Role Overview:
As SMT Shift Engineer, you will work as part of the SMT Production Engineering Team, providing technical support and solutions to maximise the performance of our equipment and processes to deliver high quality products. This will include working on maintenance (TPM), breakdowns, and efficiency improvement projects in a safe, controlled manner. The role will work closely with Operational Managers and Supervisors, as well as the wider Production Engineer team, sharing best practices and providing technical leadership or support as needed. Training will be made available to support personal development, with the right candidate showing strong values and behaviours to drive our team and business forward.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the delegation of technical tasks within the working shift
• Conduct regular TPM in line with the maintenance schedule
• Repair of surface mount machinery
• Investigate concerns or improvement opportunities for Quality, Delivery, & Cost
• Supporting knowledge and best practice sharing
• Technical reporting, such as shift report or change control requests

Essential Criteria:
• Understanding of circuit board assembly machines
• Understanding of electrical circuit diagrams
• Qualified to ONC level/HNC in an engineering field
• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer literate (Proficiency in Outlook & Excel)
• Process driven, with a methodical approach to problem solving

Desirable Criteria:
• Experience working in a high volume production environment
• Experience of problem-solving tools and techniques (such as KT or Six Sigma)
